Calder's Backpack

I've been wanting to make Calder a backpack for a while. He has been using one of my purses to store his toys and carry them around the house. The poor kid needed something. It took no time at all to whip it up this morning. I was surprised how quick it was. Calder loves it. It's so fun to see him carry it around. Right now it is packed with all his stuff for church tomorrow.

I used the pattern from Lotta Jonsdotter's Simple Sewing. I did make one small adjustment. Since I used heavy canvas instead of lightweight cotton my straps couldn't both fit through the top casing. I just made one long strap instead. That also decreased the length of the straps but the original pattern was for an adult so it's perfect for a toddler.
