Pottery Class

After a few years of consistent pottery classes I feel like I am finally making pieces that feel like me. There was so much trail and error and many (MANY) imperfectly round or otherwise sub par pieces. I didn't care. Ceramics was a relaxing activity with no expectations. I could go to class. Play and learn and then leave without feeling any guilt or stress about what I did or didn't accomplish.

This pot is the pinnacle of my ceramics skills. I love the shape and glaze. The wooden lid brings me so much joy as well.

2023 Women’s History Month

I get emotional learning about what others want and how they worked to get there.

Throughout the month I want to highlight some of my favorite women, past and present. Women who dared to dream big and went for it. Women who put in the work to get what they wanted. Women who had to fight against tradition, society, debilitating life circumstances, misfortune, and discomfort.

By learning about and observing women who have overcome difficulties to do incredible things I have learned I am stronger than I thought. I am capable of whatever I set my mind to and most importantly, we are far stronger when we lift each other up and help each other achieve goals.

Back to Blogging

I used to have a few successful blogs, you know, back when blogging was all the rage. As that time waned and my life became full of kids and their activities, I stopped blogging. This timing also lined up with the rise of Instagram. It was easier to post a picture and a few words than sit down and collect my thoughts. Now that my kids are older, I’m ready to get back into the slower pace of deep thoughts.

So… I’m back and ready to share more thoughts along with my pictures of woodworking, sewing, ceramics, baking, raising kids, home projects, and creating art.
