Chicago City Guide - Eat
from Giordan's |
Chicago is known for their hot dogs and pizza. When it comes to pizza, just like baseball teams people have pretty strong alliances. After trying a few different options my husband and I decided our favorite was Giordano's. I love the butter flavor in the crust and the way the sauce is slightly sweet. Also, I've never done it but you can also order them online.

Sweet Mandy B's serves the best cupcakes I've ever eaten. And I've eaten a lot of cupcakes in my life and I'm not kidding, these are the best! The cake is perfectly moist and the frosting is sweet and plentiful. The frosting is my favorite part. My favorite flavors are red velvet, orange creamsicle and simple buttercream. I also love the shop. It is cheerful and fun and has a vintage soda shop vibe.
Chicago is known for their hot dogs and Hot Doug's is my favorite place to get one. They are cheap, extremely tasty and fun. The hand cut fries are amazing. If you have a hankering for hot dogs, go here.
from Sushi Wabi |
I had my first taste of sushi in Chicago. I fell in love! I have eaten at probably a dozen sushi restaurants since and Sushi Wabi serves the most beautiful sushi I've ever seen. The taste is incomparable as well. I think this may be because this is the first place I ever ate sushi but my husband and friends agree that it is delicious.
If you're looking for some good old fashioned American food, go to Bandera. The food is superb, but a little pricey. I don't think you'll regret it though. The cornbread is amazing. The pork chops and steak are great. Heck, even the salad is memorable. I just realized Bandera is a chain. That's great, you don't even have to go to Chicago to find it!
Chicago is definitely one city you shouldn't go hungry in. There is so much good food! Enjoy every bit of it.
