City Guide - Portland

Yay! Happy March! I am thrilled to start my month of city guides! I am going to do an overview of the city to hopefully give you a general sense of what a city is like, or at least what it was like for me. I will also tell you where to stay and what your transportation should be, where to eat and shop and what the craft scene is like there. And I'll throw in what it was like to live there.
I am going to start with one of my all time favorite cities! Portland, Oregon! Portland is perfect in so many ways. The temperature is moderate all year round. The people are fun and artsy. They recycle like you wouldn't believe and you can get just about anywhere on mass transit.

I went to college in Portland and I loved it. I didn't know how good it was until I started moving around the country. I'm not saying other cities are bad, it is just different than any place I have ever been. I think a city has the ability to shape the people who live there. The things I learned in Portland and feel are now a part of who I am are:

explore your creativity
everyone can be an artist
take care of the environment
make mass transit work, if at all possible
give to others, it feels good
eat whole foods
being green is a choice no matter what your circumstances

So, follow along on the journey! It should be a fun cross-country month!

Oh and ps I am going to start my Me-Made-March outfit posts tomorrow! I can't wait to show you what I'm wearing today!
