Portland City Guide - Play
Photo from Powell's
There are three places that are must visit spots for me. The first is Powell's City of Books new and used book store. No matter how much time you have available to spend, it won't be enough. But even if you only have a minute or two, stop in. It's at least seeing how huge this store is. Address: 1005 W Burnside Portland, OR 97209.

The second place I love is Washington Park. In the park you'll find the International Rose Test Garden, the Japanese Rose Garden and miles of trails to hike. There are more than 8,000 roses in the Test Garden and it is the most peaceful place. It is set above the city so you can look down the hill at the skyline. The Test Garden is free and due to Portland's awesome climate there is something in bloom all year round. Oh and this is a great place for photography. Washington Park also houses the zoo and Children's Museum. Although they are fun, they aren't any more amazing than other zoos and children's museums, so if you have one at home, skip it.
My last favorite place is the Pearl District. This is a great shopping area that is architecturally beautiful and unique. Many of the stores and houses are in converted warehouses. There are fun art galleries and quirky little shops.
So, what do you think? Do you want to go to Portland yet?
