SYTYC Interview
Here is my interview with Missy from So You Think You're Crafty. I thought I would post it here so you can all read it too.
Hi! I am Camilla Wilcox from Candied Apples. I am a low maintenance gal who prefers to look a little more high maintenance. I love knowing I have painstakingly chosen or made every item in my house and they are all things I love. If I don't love it, it doesn't stay. Purging my home is a hobby of mine.

My favorite color is yellow and although I don't own a lot of yellow things I hope to change that!
Questions:
1.Tell us a little about you and your blog.
I was born and raised in Oregon. Once I got married we started moving east. We've lived in Chicago, Columbus, Ohio and now in the DC area. I've loved every city we have lived in! I have a wonderful husband and an adorable little boy. We are small town folks who love city living. I enjoy all things domestic. I make my own bread, jam and canned fruit. I sew our own clothes and am attempting to grow vegetables and herbs on our balcony.
I started Candied Apples as a creative outlet while I was working in Chicago at a very scientific, uncreative job. It has grown and changed to fit my life as I shifted from working wife to stay at home mom.
2.How and when did you start crafting?
I was humbly raised by two amazing parents who loved their kids and each other. I was taught about resourcefulness, creativity, recycling, hard work, patience and happiness. Through this upbringing I have been crafting since before I can remember. I didn't start sewing until I was in college, but once I tried I was hooked.
3.How often do you craft?
I craft daily. If I'm not actually sewing or creating, I am jotting down ideas while we're on our way to playgroups or museums.
4.Where do you get your inspiration?
Oh my goodness, everywhere. I think nature is probably my biggest form of inspiration. I'm very practical and I love the way many things in nature serve a dual purpose. If I can make something with more than one purpose then I am over the moon.
5.What is your favorite medium to work in?
Definitely fabric. But I am starting to do more with wood and paint.
6.What is your guilty pleasure?
Thrifting. I love going to a thrift store whenever we have a few minutes in our day. Thankfully my son loves it too!
7.What makes you smile?
Of course my family, sunshine, bread right out of the oven, cupcakes, fabric stores, hot cocoa with marshmallows, baking, reading and IKEA.
8.What is your favorite thing to do (other than crafting)?
I love exploring Washington DC with my son. We love going to museums, parks, memorials and just about anywhere on the Metro.
