Me Made June - June 1

Happy June! I am so excited to kick off this month with this awesome dress that I just finished THIS MORNING! Yep, I was hemming and adding the braided edge while my son ate breakfast. Thankfully I got it done quick because it was perfect for our activities today.

I had this green striped belt in the closet and I really like the way it looks.
The striped knit was from G Street Fabrics here in Maryland. I love that store because they have an amazing apparel section and they have a large $3.00 / yard section. There was only 1/2 a yard of this but I got it anyway. I have done quite a few things with it already and I still have a tiny bit left over. The coral red knit is from a friend who couldn't use it and so she passed it on. I am so glad she did. I used an old t-shirt for the pattern and just lengthened it. By a lot.
This is the second maxi dress that I've made and I am realizing how mom-friendly they are. You can bend and sit on the floor without exposing you undies. Perfect I tell you. Plus they are still cooler and lighter than pants.
This last picture is the only picture of me standing where you can see the whole dress. I know it is blurry beyond belief but you get the idea.

Dress: Me made
Belt: Thrifted
Shoes: Payless
Necklace: Target
Earrings: Ann Taylor Loft

The photo challenge for the day was self portrait. Obviously I could use any of the ones above for this, but I chose the one below because it sums up how I view myself. Happy. A mother.  Relaxed. Comfortable but still trying to be cute.
