Thursday In The Know: Jeans
I know we all wear jeans. It is just part of the American wardrobe. They look great, keep us warm and make us feel good. But, after reading a NY Times article recently on how the fashion industry is starting to look at zero-waste options I think it may be a while before I buy another pair.
Tuesday Tutorial: Boot to Skinny
As I mentioned yesterday my focus for the week was to go through my clothes, try everything on and get rid of the things I don't like. I found a few things that had a category all their own. Basically I made a fix pile.
Nothing New Week 2
I had another great Nothing New week. I feel like I have more time to do creative things when I'm not running to the store for this and that. It's actually quite nice. And when I have had to go to the store it was nice to just get what I needed and get out. What a great feeling! I have more time in my day for sure.
Baby Gifts
My friend Andrea is having a baby (Yay!) and I wanted to make her something sweet and special. These were just the ticket. Have you ever seen something so cute? I love how small and man-like they are. I imagine they will fit between 3 and 6 months. Perfect for late spring.
Nothing New Week 1
Because you all want to know what I look like deep in thought. Photo courtesy of Calder. Maybe next week I'll have a picture that pertains to the challenge. Keep your fingers crossed.
Shoebuy.com Giveaway
Help! I ended up with a giftcard to Shoebuy.com that I can't use. It is for $10.00 and has to be used by January 11. Since I'm not buying anything new this year and since they don't have anything for $10.00 or less I'm looking to give it away.
Toddler Style
My two year old son has amazing fashion sense. He picks his own clothes and usually does very well. He often pulls off outfits that most people couldn't and gets tons of compliments on them.
2011: The Year of Nothing New
As part of my resolutions this year I will not be buying anything new in 2011 with just a few exceptions. Here's how it will work:
Orange Suspenders
As I mentioned in my 2011 Sewing Inspiration post I really wanted to make orange suspenders for Calder. He has since requested green as well. I love how stylish he is and that he gets so excited when I make something for him.
Strawberry Pants
Making pants for me has always scared me to death. I attempted once a few years ago but it didn't end well. I have been wanting to make more of my clothes and since I wear pants quite frequently I decided it was about time I gave it a go again.
