Me Made March - March 3
I am really loving getting dressed these days. It's weird for me to talk about something so personal as getting dressed, but here we are. I don't know why I have been saving these clothes for ... I don't know what but it feels good to wear them!
Gingham Shirt
I just finished this awesome gingham shirt. It is a thin orange fabric so it will be perfect for layering now and by itself in the summer. I used Simplicity 2447. I added a few inches to the length, but that is the only change I made.
Portland City Guide - Play
There are three places that are must visit spots for me. The first is Powell's City of Books new and used book store. No matter how much time you have available to spend, it won't be enough. But even if you only have a minute or two, stop in. It's at least seeing how huge this store is. Address: 1005 W Burnside Portland, OR 97209.
Me Made March - March 2
I LOVE March! It was a beautiful 60 degrees today. I feel like spring is quickly approaching and I'm so giddy with excitement!
Portland City Guide - Eat
I know there are thousands of city guides for each of the cities I'm going to tell you about this month. So I'm not going to do a great big list of all the possible places to visit or eat.
Me Made March - March 1
It seems like posting outfits in the evening is going to work, so here it goes! To kick off Me Made March I brought out my Strawberry Pants.
City Guide - Portland
Yay! Happy March! I am thrilled to start my month of city guides! I am going to do an overview of the city to hopefully give you a general sense of what a city is like, or at least what it was like for me.
Spending Fast Recap
Before I get started telling you about the end of my Spending Fast, I wanted to show you a quick and easy fix for an area that has been bugging me. My bookshelf was starting to feel cluttered and ugly. I rearranged the books by color and now I LOVE it. Check it out.
Kindle Cover Tutorial
Happy Friday! I hope you have great plans for the weekend. If not, here's a project for you.
My husband bought me a Kindle for my birthday / Christmas this last year. I love it and use it all the time. I have seen lots of fancy Kindle covers but of course, knew I could make my own.
Thursday In The Know: Homemade Bread
In the last 18 months I think I have bought bread two or three times. I just really love making bread. I love putting the ingredients together, I love kneading it, I love the smell and I love eating it. My mom used to make bread when I was little and for some reason it is now a comfort thing for me.
Growth Chart
When I was younger, every few months my mom would measure all of us on the back door and write our name and the date. I loved looking to see where I compared to my siblings when they were my age and to see how much I had grown since the last time. And now, when we go visit my parents Calder can compare to me and all of his aunts and uncles.
Knit Striped Shirt
I'm slowly getting more and more comfortable working with knits. They aren't hard to work with, just hard to look right. I found this red and blue striped knit at the thrift store. It was about two yards and seemed thick enough for a new t-shirt.
Dinner & Pink Tights
This is what I made for dinner last night. It is Thai Chicken Pizza and it was amazing. It has peanut sauce, all sorts of vegetables and mozzarella cheese on their whole wheat pizza dough. I found the recipe here on Trader Joe's website.
Preparing for March
Yesterday I confessed I have a hate / hate relationship with the month of February. The 70 degree weather yesterday certainly didn't hurt but still, I hold my ground. So, to help myself out of the February blah's I'm just planning for March. I have two very exciting things in the works and I have been wanting to share them with you, so here it goes.
