Me Made June- June 5
I felt like a librarian today. Which is okay. I like librarians and feel they dress respectably. Although it was in the 80's today I wore this corduroy blazer because it is always cold at church. It was kind of fun to pull out layers again.
Me Made June - June 4
We had a MARVELOUS day! I got to hang out with my little boy AND my hubby. He has been working on the weekends for a long long time but the times are a changin'. We spent the morning in downtown Silver Spring at the farmer's market and playing in the large fountain. Since my husband was home I asked him to take my pictures. Well, he's a little more shy about photo taking than I am and these are the few I got. So this is what you get for today!
June Photo Challenge - Hands
I love the size difference between Calder's 2.5 year old hands and mine. If you're enjoying the daily photo challenge posts, check out the rest of the flickr photos from everyone else participating in the challenge.
Me Made June - June 3
This is probably my favorite outfit. Not just of things I've made but in my whole closet. It's comfortable and fun and ladylike. And, it is almost completely made by me. The gingham shirt was first blogged about here and the pants are new enough I haven't blogged about them yet. These are white stretch brushed denim. I used the same pattern I used to make my red pants, Simplicity 3850.
June Photo Challenge - Shoes
These are my all time favorite shoes. I wear them with tons of outfits and get so many compliments on them. They have a rounded toe with pleated detailing on the toe. They have a great strap, with a big button closure and a sturdy wood looking heel. These aren't the most expensive shoes in my closet, but they are the most comfortable.
Me Made June - June 2
Happy June! I am so excited to kick off this month with this awesome dress that I just finished THIS MORNING! Yep, I was hemming and adding the braided edge while my son ate breakfast. Thankfully I got it done quick because it was perfect for our activities today.

Memorial Day
I have always thought of Memorial Day as a wonderful kick off to Summer. Having not had anyone in my family serving in the military and honestly not knowing many people at all serving in the military I didn't take the holiday as seriously as I should have.
June Photo Challenge
Over on A Feathered Nest I saw this adorable photo challenge for June and would love to invite you to join me. Above you'll see the list of photos you should take every day. There isn't any sort of award or anything. It is really just for my own fun and I think it will be a good challenge. The only rule is you must take the picture the same day you post or take it the day before to post it on the day it is supposed to be posted.
Easy Peasy
I have this black shirt, that was fine but honestly it was a little tight and I didn't love the way it fit. So, I cut it from the bottom to the neckline, leaving the neck hem in place. Then I added 3 inch strips of fabric to the front and back so they would peek through. I added a little tie around the neck to add an extra flair.
New Shirt
The marvelous Kathleen over at Grosgrain is hosting a free pattern month. The first day she featured an adorable top called The Sunny Resort Blouse by The Sew Convert. I had mixed feelings about it at first but then I just kept thinking about it and decided to give it a try. I totally love it and find it incredibly comfortable. Oh and it is incredibly easy and takes just a yard of fabric. I made it in just one nap time! So there's no reason not to make yourself one! Get sewing!
Thrift Store Finds
Check out this adorable purse. I found it at the thrift store - with the original vintage tags still on. It is really three purses in one. You see, there's the polka dot version up above here. And down below we have the winter wool version.
The Easiest Necklace
I was at G Street Fabrics the other day and noticed their grab bags of buttons for $4.00. You get a ton of buttons and I like to have unique buttons to use on projects here and there. Among some very unique and very gaudy buttons I found these things. They aren't buttons and they aren't beads because they don't have any holes in them. They are just flat on one side and rounded on the top. I decided to use them to make a necklace.
